Partita Concordia for String Trio
Music for string trio. A suite of dances with some contemporary and some not so contemporary harmony. Each movement explores counterpoint and retains some of the characteristics of the dances, especially rhythm.
Technically the music also utilises the concept of multi-stopping for the instruments, i.e., playing more than one note at a time and/or playing chords. The music was inspired by, but not really similar to, the Bach Partitas for violin.
Played here by Alexandra Wood on violin, the late Levine Andrade on viola and Richard Harwood on cello.
